Two people who showed up shot at a Cobb County gas station Tuesday could have been involved in a shooting at a Waffle House in Fulton County, police said.
A security guard at the RaceTrac on South Cobb Drive called authorities after the gunshot victims tried to buy cigarettes, Fulton County police Lt. Scott McBride told AJC.com. The guard said the two were wounded at a Waffle House on Fulton Industrial Boulevard, where officers investigated a shooting earlier Tuesday morning.
“We're still trying to piece together how they were related, if they were related, and what happened,” McBride said.

Fulton police found one person shot when they arrived about 4 a.m. to the Waffle House, which is off I-20 about seven miles away from the RaceTrac. That person was not seriously injured and was able to wait on an ambulance, McBride said.
While they were dealing with that victim, McBride said investigators got a call from Cobb County about the two gunshot victims who showed up at the RaceTrac.
McBride said the Fulton shooting did not occur inside the restaurant, but there may have been witnesses.
“We’re looking over everything and talking to witnesses,” McBride said. “We hope to know more soon.”

Officers from Fulton and Cobb counties were called to the RaceTrac outside Smyrna to investigate Tuesday morning. The gas station was temporarily blocked off with crime scene tape while they were on scene.
A car was towed away as part of the investigation.
