Two teenagers are dead and another victim is injured following a triple shooting in East Point on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a call about gunshots near Main Street and Cleveland Avenue about 4:20 p.m., East Point police Capt. Allyn Glover said.

They found a body at the bottom of a foot bridge near the BuggyWorks parking lot, he said. Police believe the victim was between the ages of 16 and 19.

Another shooting victim ran across the railroad tracks to the other side of the bridge and collapsed, Glover said. He was found with a gunshot wound and rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital. His condition was not released.

A third person later arrived at the same hospital with gunshot wounds, authorities said.

Glover said one of the other victims died at Grady sometime Tuesday night. It’s unclear which person died, and none of their names have been released.

Witnesses told police that the shooting was the result of a fight between a large group of people. No suspects are in custody, and no other information has been released.

Anyone with information is asked to contact East Point police at 404-761-2177.
