Cobb County police continue to search for multiple suspects after one of their co-conspirators was shot during an armed robbery at a Vinings apartment complex Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The robbery and shooting took place at the SYNC at Vinings near Suffex Green Lane and Paces Walk about 3:45 p.m., spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk said.

Investigators determined that four suspects barged into the apartment of 44-year-old Clifford Davis and held him at gunpoint, Delk said. During the robbery, Davis was able to wrestle a gun away from one of the suspects and fire at them.

The suspects ran into some nearby woods, which is where police found 28-year-old Sebastian Walters, who was injured by gunfire, Delk said.

He had been shot in the neck and shoulder and was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. He is in critical condition.

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Walters for armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Investigators initially thought Davis had also been shot, but he only suffered “superficial non-life-threatening injuries during the struggle,” Delk said.

The other three suspects remain on the loose, but Delk said there was no “indication of an imminent threat or danger to the public at large.”
