A 96-year-old man shot and killed his 86-year-old wife at an Atlanta retirement community, then turned the gun on himself, police said.

The shooting occurred about 3:20 p.m. Monday at Saint Anne’s Terrace in the 3100 block of Northside Pkwy. Police have not said what led to the shooting, which they are calling a murder-suicide.

“We are still gathering details on the incident,” Officer Lisa Bender said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victims as Andrew and Peggy Marinos. The couple lived at Saint Anne’s Terrace.

An autopsy is expected Tuesday.

No other details were released.
