Three people who had been shot were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in a FedEx truck after flagging down the driver, police said.

Four men were shot in northeast Atlanta on Monday afternoon, and three of them were taken to the hospital after flagging down a FedEx truck driver, authorities said.

About 6 p.m., police officers were called to a home in the 1500 block of Hardee Street in Edgewood, and they were told four people were shot, Atlanta police said.

Before officers arrived, three injured people got the attention of a FedEx truck driver, who took them to Grady Memorial Hospital, police said. A fourth person who had been shot in this incident was later dropped off at the hospital.

Police previously said four men who had been injured in the shooting were taken to the hospital in the FedEx truck, but police spokeswoman Tasheena Brown told AJC.com that only three victims were in the truck.

The four injured people were alert when they arrived at the hospital, Brown said. Police believe the shooting was the result of a possible drug deal gone bad.

On Wednesday, Brown identified the four people who had been shot as Jaleel Wulu, 25, Denzel Garrison, 28, James Collins, 24, and Leon Kaymore, 24. It’s unclear which people rode to the hospital in the FedEx truck and which one was dropped off.

All four men are stable, according to Brown. She also said “the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting continues.”

A spokeswomen for FedEx sent a statement on the incident that said,” First and foremost, our thoughts remain focused on the well-being of those involved in this incident. FedEx Ground commends the quick action taken by this service provider employee and is proud of the many contributions that our team members and vendors make to our communities every day.”

No other details have been released.
