A motorcyclist died Friday after a collision with another vehicle in Marietta, police said.

Eddie Ross, 52, of Marietta, was driving a 2010 Kawasaki ZX1400 north on Atlanta Road approaching Old Clay Street just before 6:15 p.m., Marietta police said in a news release. A 2011 Infiniti G37 was stopped at the stop sign on Old Clay Street, preparing to turn left onto Atlanta Road.

The Infiniti entered the road and was struck on its side by the motorcycle, the release said. Ross died at the scene, and the driver of the Infiniti was taken to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcycle’s speed is believed to be a contributing factor, but the crash is still being investigated, police said.

Anyone with information about the wreck is asked to contact police at 770-794-5364.
