A man was killed Wednesday afternoon after being shot in the head outside a home in Atlanta, police said.

Officers were sent to the home in the 1700 block of Marietta Road about 4 p.m., Atlanta police spokesman James White said. When they arrived, they found the man in the parking area the residents shared.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Investigators are trying to determine what led to the shooting, White said. An investigation is ongoing.
