Man found shot, killed between 2 homes in South Fulton ID’d

South Fulton police were on the scene of a deadly shooting Wednesday morning in a neighborhood off Fayetteville Road. A man was found shot in the back and lying dead between two houses on Mastiff Road.

A man was found shot in the back and lying dead between two houses in a South Fulton neighborhood early Wednesday, police said.

Police were first called to the neighborhood off Fayetteville Road just before midnight to investigate reports of gunshots, but they could not find any victims. They returned about 2:30 a.m. after the body was spotted between two homes in the 7700 block of Mastiff Road.

The man had been shot once in the back, South Fulton police spokesman Lt. Derrick Rogers said. He was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as 21-year-old Chris Floyd of South Fulton.

Investigators were combing the neighborhood for evidence Wednesday morning. A suspect has been identified but police are not releasing any further information until an arrest warrant is obtained, Channel 2 Action News reported.
