Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in northwest Atlanta on Wednesday.

The shooting happened in the 400 block of Andrew J. Hairston Place, and the victim was found laying on the ground with a gunshot wound on his chest, Atlanta police told AJC.com. The victim’s name has not been released.

A witness told officers the victim appeared to know the person who shot him, police said. No other information on the suspect was provided.
