A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Brookhaven on Tuesday afternoon, police confirmed.

The man was hit in the 3700 block of Buford Highway, which is near Drew Valley Road, Brookhaven police spokesman Carlos Nino told AJC.com. All northbound lanes were blocked by investigators for several hours.

The driver stayed at the scene, and it’s unclear whether any charges will be filed, he said. There are no crosswalks in the area where the pedestrian was hit.

Police are in the process of contacting Georgia State Patrol for assistance investigating the incident, Nino said. No other details have been released.
