Nightclub co-owner killed in shooting outside his DeKalb business

The co-owner of a DeKalb County nightclub was killed early Tuesday in a shooting outside the facility, police said.

Authorities were called to The Party Room in the 5400 block of Memorial Drive about 5 a.m., DeKalb police spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said.

A witness inside the nightclub said he heard gunfire, went outside and saw a man on the ground dead, Campbell said.

Police identified the man as Rogelio "Roger" Hackett, 57.

“There was an event at this establishment last night,” Campbell said. “We’re not sure what time the event ended.”

No arrests have been made.

“We’re hoping that there may be surveillance footage that we can go through to see if there was anyone caught on camera,” Campbell said.
