An inmate was captured Monday after he managed to escape from the Atlanta City Detention Center, police said.

Corey Thomas Brady, 28, escaped from the pretrial detention center in the 200 block of Peachtree Street about 1 p.m. Sunday, Atlanta police Officer Donald Hannah said.

He was originally arrested in Atlanta on a traffic offense, but he was later held on added warrants from Cobb and DeKalb counties.

"Mr. Brady left from his area of detention and made it to the sally port,” Hannah said.

Brady then climbed over a gate, which city jail cameras captured, Hannah said.

At that point, he ran away, according to police.

Brady has a history of using aliases. In the past, he has used his brother’s name, Hannah said.
