THE LATEST: R. Kelly’s former manager indicted for alleged death threat

Henry James Mason, 52, surrendered on a warrant of terroristic threats, Henry County Sheriff Keith McBrayer confirmed to Winne.

A Henry County grand jury on Thursday indicted the former manager for R&B singer R. Kelly on a charge of making terroristic threats.

Authorities say Henry James Mason, 53, threatened the family of Joycelyn Savage, whose family believes was held against her will by Kelly.

According to a Henry County police incident report, Mason told Tim Savage, “I’m gonna do harm to you and your family, when I see you I’m gonna get you, I’m going to (expletive) kill you.”

Tim Savage told a police officer Mason made threats while he was on a three-way call with another man, who he said heard Mason make the threats, the police report said.

The Savages have repeatedly accused Kelly of brainwashing their daughter, who has denied allegations of abuse.

Mason surrendered in January, several months after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was later released on $10,000 bond.

Gerald Griggs, an attorney for the Savage family, released an emailed statement following Mason’s indictment.

“Today's indictment of Henry James Mason, the former manager of Robert Kelly, further underscores the public accountability that victims and families are pressing on Mr. Kelly and his team,” it said. “The Savage family will not be bullied or threatened in their quest to reunite with Joycelyn. Let this be a message to all associates of Robert Sylvester Kelly that the Savages are serious about justice and accountability."
