A crash involving a DeKalb County school bus with no children on board and a dump truck shut down all northbound traffic on Lithonia Industrial Boulevard for hours Tuesday afternoon, police confirmed.

DeKalb police said only adults were involved in the crash, police Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com. The school district in a statement said two of its employees were taken to a hospital. However, Spencer said there was only one driver in each vehicle, and both complained about minor injuries at the scene.

The incident happened north of I-20 just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. Spencer said the crash has since been cleared and the road has reopened.

“The health and safety of our employees remains a top priority at the DeKalb County School District. District personnel will continue to monitor this situation closely,” the school district statement said.

No other details were released.
