The man who killed his pregnant, 16-year-old girlfriend was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole Thursday in a Jackson County courtroom.

Jonathan Michael Smith has been jailed since his arrest within days of the death of Cheyanne Nicole Hair on Dec. 4, 2013. On Thursday, he was found guilty on all charges, including murder, felony murder, feticide, aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, sexual exploitation of a minor, family violence and false imprisonment, according to the Jackson County District Attorney's Office.

Smith and Cheyanne had only been together a few weeks when they moved to a small home just outside the Jefferson city limits, according to a family member. An autopsy determined that Cheyanne died from blunt force trauma
