A woman and a fourth-grade boy were hit by a car Thursday morning while waiting for a DeKalb County school bus.

The collision happened on North Decatur Road, near North Indian Creek, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Queens Powell told Channel 2 she heard screams after the driver of a car swerved out of control, before striking two people and a pole.

“It was just so fast,” Powell said. “The little boy, his leg was broken. His arm was broken. There was another woman, and her leg was broken.”

The crash happened across from the DeKalb County School System Building, on a stretch of road where parents told Channel 2 cars are known to speed.

They said they want the bus stop changed and a speed limit posted before someone else gets hurt.

“We’ll be conducting an investigation of this incident to determine the cause and any possible remediation,” DeKalb County Schools said in a statement.
