The 14-year-old boy accused of killing his grandmother has been charged as an adult.
After allegedly stabbing her more than 50 times the boy, Charles Price, went to school still covered in blood, investigators testified Thursday in court.
When he arrived at Therrell High School last Friday, his teachers thought at first that he had killed another student, prosecutors said, according to Channel 2 Action News.
“I killed it,” he allegedly said.
When investigators went to the southwest Atlanta home where he lived with his grandmother, they found her body inside and a gruesome scene, Atlanta police Detective Kevin Otts testified. Mary Price, 76, had been stabbed multiple times inside the Fairburn Road home, where the bloody crime scene spread from the kitchen to the living room, Otts said.
The April 18 stabbing may have followed an argument over the home’s television DVR, Otts told the courtroom.
Prosecutors confirmed in court that the boy has been charged as an adult with killing Mary Price, the mother of an Atlanta police officer. The officer is not the father of the young suspect Charles Price, police previously said.
Charles Price is being held without bond and is scheduled to return to court later this month, Channel 2 reported.
