East Point police are looking for three men who stole a car with a baby inside the vehicle.

The incident started when a man went inside a Texaco convenience store in southwest Atlanta and left his 5-month-old son in a blue Chevy Impala, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“The vehicle was unlocked, the keys in the ignition, the vehicle was running,” East Point police Capt. Cliff Chandler said.

Three men in a black car parked beside the Impala and took it, police said. Christopher Pitts Jr. was inside the Impala.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the baby.

The Impala, equipped with a GPS tracker, was later found outside a grocery store on Cleveland Avenue and Metropolitan Parkway, Channel 2 reported.

Christopher was found safe inside the car and taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Hughes Spalding, police told Channel 2.

He was released from the hospital early Wednesday morning.

Investigators were going through surveillance tape early Wednesday. Police told the television station one of the men suspected of stealing the car wore distinctive blue and white sneakers.
