An Atlanta police officer faces a preliminary hearing in Fulton County Superior Court on Friday on felony charges.

Officer Tommy L. Williams was arrested May 21 on charges of obstruction of a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor, violation of oath by public officer and hindering apprehension of a criminal, both felonies, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Details were sparse Monday night about the background of the charges.
