Police in Athens are trying to identify two men who robbed a brick-and-mortar storefront for a food delivery service at gunpoint.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the two men who robbed the goPuff store in the 1900 block of Commerce Road on May 31. The store is a snack delivery service and digital convenience retailer, according to its website.

The robbery happened just before 11:30 p.m., according to Athens-Clarke County police spokesman Shashi Charles.

Witnesses told police that two men — one slim and about 5 foot, 9 inches tall; the other heavy-set and about 5-5 —entered the store with handguns and demanded cash from the safe.

“After obtaining the cash, suspects demanded the phones of witnesses and fled on foot,” Charles said.

The two men concealed their identities during the robbery. Both are considered armed and dangerous, Charles said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Paul Johnson at 706-613-3330, ext. 522, or by email at paul.johnson@accgov.com.
