Athens-Clarke County police are on the lookout for a man accused of shooting his wife Tuesday night.

About 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Courtney Jerrod Wiley, 30, shot Kasundra Wiley at an Oak Hill Drive residence, according to a police media release. Kasundra Wiley’s three children were present during the incident, police said. It was not clear if the children witnessed the shooting.

The suspected assailant fled the scene before police arrived. Kasundra Wiley had a gunshot wound to the chest, and was taken by emergency medical personnel to Athens Regional Medical Center.

Warrants have been issued for Courtney Jerrod Wiley’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and third-degree cruelty to children.

Courtney Jerrod Wiley, who is described as 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
