Aspiring model, rapper gets life for killing Dalton store clerk

June 19, 2015An aspiring model and rapper was sentenced to life without parole for killing a Dalton store clerk, the Whitfield County District Attorney’s Office said Friday.
Skyy Mims, of Detroit, was convicted May 1 by a Whitfield County jury of murder in the death of 37-year-old Dahyabhai Chaudhari in March 2014. The then 21-year-old Mims was arrested in Bartow County.
Prosecutors told jurors Mims stabbed the man to death in a Dalton convenience store for about $200 in cash and scratch-off lottery tickets, Channel 2 Action News reported.
