Three people, including a father and son, are in custody after the body of a man who was reported missing was found near metro Atlanta, authorities said Friday.

The Secret Service and the GBI are among those investigating the case that broke on Walker Bennett Road in Walton County, Sheriff Joe Chapman said.

The man, who was in his early 20s, was reported missing last week.

“We have located what we believe to be a grave,” GBI agent Michael Ayers said. “We’re in the process of disinterring what we believe to be human remains within that gravesite.”

According to Chapman, the suspects and charges are: Roger Gene Watters, 44, tampering with evidence; Kolbie Hadden Watters, 21, felony murder and aggravated assault; and Jonathan Britt Lester, 21, felony murder and aggravated assault.

Roger Watters is Kolbie Watters’ father, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The identity of the body is not being released until positive identification is made by the GBI Medical Examiner’s office, Chapman said.

“We plan to charge them with murder once the GBI has done their part,” Chapman said.
