Police arrested a 21-year-old Gwinnett County man Thursday morning on a probation violation warrant.

But soon after, Christopher Lamont Middleton of Lawrenceville was charged in connection with a deadly shooting at a Walgreens, Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera.

Middleton now faces murder and armed robbery charges related to the Nov. 15 death of 26-year-old Wesley Bryant.

Bryant was shot near his car in the Walgreens parking lot located in the 1500 block of Lawrenceville Highway. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Middleton was interviewed by the lead investigator while in custody on his probation violation charge, Pihera said.

Middleton was booked into the Gwinnett County jail at 11:30 a.m.
