The man accused of killing a young Atlanta mother is now in custody, some six months after her death.
Fulton County police spokeswoman Officer Kay Lester confirmed that 37-year-old Larry Reese turned himself in Friday at the department's precinct on Old National Highway. Charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Reese was wanted in connection with the Aug. 19 death of 21-year-old Claynesia Ringer.
Ringer, an aspiring pharmacy technician and mother to a 2-year-old girl, was found dead inside a vehicle on Ocean Valley Drive early that morning. Family members previously said she lived in the neighborhood but that they didn’t know why she was at the home.
Immediately after the shooting, the Fulton police SWAT team raided a nearby home — finding marijuana, an AR-15 and a .45-caliber handgun — but no arrests were made.
A possible motive for the shooting has not been released.
