He allegedly told the owner of a scenic wedding venue that Jesus sent him to find a bride. And when he arrived at the northwest Georgia venue, an entire bridal party was already there.

But the man claiming he was the groom didn't even know the bride's name, the wedding planner told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. And the bride? She had selected her groom long before, and it wasn't the man allegedly acting on an order from on high.

"He was there to get married that day," an owner of Hills Creek farm in Polk County said Thursday. "The bride didn't know him at all."

The owner said she asked the man, later identified as William Kay, to leave Friday as a bridal party rehearsed for the Saturday nuptials. But Kay, 22, refused to leave, and the owner called police.

When Polk County officers arrived, the man told them why he was at the picturesque farm.

"It was hard for the officers to keep it together," the farm's owner said.

Kay, of Rockmart, was arrested on charges of criminal trespass and stalking, according to Northwest Georgia News. Kay was booked into the Polk County jail, but was later released on bond, the news website reported. His mug shot was not available Thursday.

The same family has owned the farm for more than 10 years and hosted countless weddings. But a "crasher" has never before been escorted away in handcuffs.

"We've never had anything like this at all," the owner said. "We were just blown away."

The newlyweds were honeymooning and unavailable for comment.
