UPDATE: The Adams brothers appeared in court Thursday and a judge decided to hold them without bond. Their next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 6. No court information was available for Malcolm Pitts.

ORIGINAL STORY: A man accused of fatally shooting an East Point sports bar employee turned himself in Wednesday, police said.

Malcolm Gerrad Pitts faces murder charges in connection with the shooting of 32-year-old Laron Lowe III of Riverdale, College Park police spokesman Lt. Gerald Riser Jr. said.

He is one of three men accused of following an employee out of the 29 Degrees Sports Bar & Grill early Sunday morning, police said.

Riser said Lowe got in a fight with a customer around closing time. When he and a woman later left the bar, in her Chevrolet Tahoe, they were followed by several people in another car.

After following the Tahoe into neighboring College Park, someone started shooting from their car into the woman’s Tahoe near Rock Hill Road, according to the police report.

The woman driving the Tahoe asked to remain anonymous.

A round struck the driver’s side window and a rear window on the driver’s side. Both tail lights had holes in them, police said.

Lowe died in the passenger seat while the woman was driving. She returned to 29 Degrees, located on Washington Road, to call 911, Riser said.

Twin brothers Isaiah Adams and Leon Adams are also charged with murder in connection to Lowe’s death.

It was not clear from the police report when the Adams brothers were arrested.

Since Sunday, police and local media had been sharing the photo of Pitts because police named him as a suspect in the homicide.

Pitts said a major factor in his decision to turn himself in was seeing his photo in the media, Riser said.
