An airline machinist from Coweta County faces a half-dozen felonies after he was arrested in a child sex sting, authorities said.

Michael Greer Wilkes, 58, of Sharpsburg, was arrested Monday on six counts of sexual exploitation of children (possession of child pornography), the GBI said in a news release.

Wilkes was under investigation by the GBI and the Coweta County Sheriff's Office after the Internet Crimes Against Children task force received a tip, the release said. Wilkes allegedly used an online service to sexually exploit the kids.

He was booked into the Coweta County Jail. No other information on the case was provided.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the GBI at 404-280-8870.
