A man, a woman and an 8-year-old boy were found dead Monday in a back bedroom of a Henry County home, police said.
About 10 a.m., co-workers went to the home in the 3300 block of Bill Gardner Parkway in Locust Grove after the man and the woman failed to show up to work, Henry police Capt. Joey Smith said. The man and the woman worked for different employers.
Co-workers found the garage door open and a back door unlocked. They didn’t go in, but called police.
When officers got to the home, “they did see some things that were concerning with some of the windows being open and stuff like that,” Smith said. “They made a decision to enter the home and [found] three people deceased.”
All were “in the same room,” he said.
Smith said he could not release the victims’ names or how they died.
The man and the woman, both in their 30s, may be related to the 8-year-old boy, he said.
“All these individuals,” Smith said, “it’s a family-type situation.”
Police were waiting on a search warrant to conduct their investigation, he said. Warrant in hand, they were not able to reenter the home until after 4 p.m.
Smith said officers were not looking for anyone in connection with the deaths at this time.
“It’s possible they may have been there for some time,” he said. “I just don’t have that information.”
Anyone with information about the deaths is asked to call Henry police.
