A school administrator and sheriff’s deputy were hit while trying to break up a fight between six Hall County students Tuesday, police said.

The fight involving six girls took place after classes at West Hall High School, Hall County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Scott Ware said.

It’s unclear what prompted the brawl.

One of the girls intentionally struck the deputy in the face and another girl hit the administrator several times in the chest, Ware said.

All six students involved in the fight are 16 or younger, according to police. They were charged with affray and released to the custody of their parents. The student who hit the deputy faces an additional charge of felony obstruction and the teen who hit the administrator has also been charged with misdemeanor simple battery, police said.
