Three teens’ plans to break into houses in east Coweta backfired on Thursday when a homeowner nabbed one of them and held the school-skipping suspect until police arrived.

Apparently a suspecting homeowner hid behind a bedroom door and called 911 while the unsuspecting teens entered the house, according to the Newnan Times-Herald, which cited sheriff’s office information. The teens had already burglarized one home, eating food from the refrigerator before taking jewelry.

Sheriff's deputies arrived at the second home around 2 p.m., collected the nabbed teen from the homeowner and found the two other teens in nearby woods, according to the newspaper. All three teens are 16-years-old and students at East Coweta High School, according to the Times-Herald. You can read more of the story here.
