Covington man kills his ex-wife then himself
A double shooting in Covington Friday has been determined to be a murder-suicide of a divorced couple.
Covington police officers responded to a shooting on Wellington Ridge Drive about 10:30 p.m. Friday where they found a man and a woman shot.
Police say the investigation showed that Norman Alphonso Richards, 46, shot Alicia Ruby Richards, 40, and then himself.
Alicia Richards lived at the location with their two young daughters who are now in the custody of other family members.
Police said the Richards were divorced and that Covington officers had responded to the address on many occasions for domestic violence related calls
