A dapper bank robber who held up a SunTrust inside a Publix grocery store Tuesday in Stockbridge has been identified, and the alleged driver of the getaway car has been arrested, according to Henry County police.
Revell Desmond Edwards, 21, of Stockbridge was identified as the man who walked into the SunTrust in the 900 block of Eagles Landing Parkway, showed the teller a gun in his waistband and handed over a note demanding money.
Police spokesman Sgt. Joey Smith said Edwards fled with an undetermined amount of cash to a maroon Chevy Blazer driven by Adam Emory Zeigler, 24, of McDonough. Zeigler was arrested Tuesday night and taken to the Henry County Jail.
Smith said Edwards, who has outstanding warrants in metro Atlanta, may have been dropped off at a MARTA bus stop near South DeKalb Mall after the 3 p.m. robbery Tuesday.
The clean-shaven, slender black male suspect was wearing a striped shirt with a white collar buttoned to the top and a dark blue suit, according to an image from the bank’s surveillance camera. He also had a pair of big-rimmed eyeglasses or sunglasses on top of his head.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Edwards, who police consider armed and dangerous, asked to call the Henry County Police Department at 770-288-8200 or Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
