They pretended to be newlyweds in search of their first home. When they saw things they liked, they returned to the home, broke in and stole them, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Thanks to a watchful neighbor, the two suspects were identified and are in custody. But investigators believe there could be other victims, the Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Rebecca Weismayer, 23, was arrested and confessed to the crimes, according to police. Tyler Michels, 25, was found in Roswell, where he ran from deputies, but was arrested. Both suspects were charged with burglary.

“He was also in possession of cocaine and showed evidence of recently using heroin,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

Michels and Weismayer remained in the Forsyth County jai Tuesday, where Michels was being held on $39,800 bond and Weismayer’s bond was set at $16,600.

Detectives have recovered stolen property. Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of this type of crime should call the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section at 770-781-2200.
