Officers spoke to the victim and collected evidence from the scene, which led to Ellington being identified as the suspect. Police said the recent theft displays a pattern for Ellington, who has had 11 prior arrests, including several thefts from vehicles.

Ellington was convicted in 2017 on charges that included entering vehicles in Fulton County, online records show. He was ordered to serve 12 months in the Fulton jail and given credit for time he had served. When he violated his probation in 2020, he was incarcerated for six months at Muscogee County Prison in Columbus. He was released last November.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, text information to 274637 or visit the Crime Stoppers website.
