Officials believe the man was home alone with the baby when the injury occurred.

A Hall County man has been arrested and accused of fracturing both of his infant son’s legs, officials said.

Bryan Oswaldo Morales, 34, allegedly fractured both of his son’s legs Wednesday at his home in the 5000 block of Magnolia Way in Buford, according to Hall County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Derreck Booth.

Officials believe Morales was home alone with the baby when the injury occurred. When the infant’s mother arrived home, she noticed he was in distress and took him to the emergency room at a Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta location, Booth said.

The Hall County Division of Family and Children Services called the sheriff’s office the next day to tell them the infant was being treated for his injuries, Booth said. The child’s age was not released.

Deputies arrested Morales on Thursday and charged him with first- and second-degree cruelty to children. He is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.

The case is still being investigated.
