Three teens have been charged with burglary and theft by receiving after allegedly breaking into a Lithonia-area home, DeKalb County police said Thursday.

The trio, two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy, was in a stolen car when the teens pulled into the driveway of a Donna Way home shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, according to Mekka Parish, spokeswoman for DeKalb police.

Two of the teens, whose names were not released, forced their way into the rear of the home, where they were met with a resident with a gun, Parish previously told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The resident fired multiple shots, striking both boys, Parish said. The two teens ran about a block to Wendy Way, where officers were called. The 15-year-old boy who had remained in the car was taken into custody and the injured teens were transported to the hospital, where they were in stable condition late Monday afternoon, Parish said.

The uninjured boy was transported to a youth detention center later Monday, according to police. The injured teens, who both sustained non-life-threatening injuries, were charged after being treated.
