Burglars who rammed a U-Haul into a West Midtown juice store Wednesday were not aiming to get their hands on the health food inside, officials said.

Their target, according to Atlanta police, was the pricey clothing and sneakers at the menswear boutique next door. Police were still tallying just how much merchandise was stolen from A Ma Maniér boutique, but said it was “a high dollar amount.”

Officers were called about the wrecked U-Haul at Arden’s Garden, which shares a wall with the clothing store in a business strip on Marietta Street. They arrived about 5:30 a.m. and found a massive hole in the building.

“It looks like they were attempting to get to this clothing store, and they actually did access it,” Atlanta police Capt. Dorian Graham said from the scene. “And they actually did take some clothing from the store.”

A witness told police they saw four men run from the wreckage and jump into a waiting white Nissan Altima.

“We’re trying to corroborate that story right now,” Graham said.

No suspects have been identified, and an investigation is ongoing.
