Conyers police are asking for help in identifying a hit-and-run driver who injured a man early Sunday.

A police officer found a seriously injured man on the interstate wall at the bottom of the I-20 entrance ramp from Salem Road about 4 a.m. Sunday when checking on a disabled vehicle, the department said in an emailed release. The man was flown to a local hospital.

Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Isaac Akwara, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Akwara suffered a broken leg, broken ribs and a collapsed lung. His family told Channel 2 that he is in a medically induced coma.

Police are looking for a pearl white car or a small SUV with damage to the front passenger side. Investigators recovered a side view mirror with numbers stamped on the inside reading “REV 2A1,” “PPC/PA” and “710508.”
