The reward fund created by the Paulding County sheriff to encourage help in the capture of the attacker of Tina Waddell on ther Silver Comet Trail now stands at $23,310. Still, investigators have yet to come up with any credible leads.

Sheriff's Office spokesman Cpl. Ashley Henson said tips and contributions to the fund the office set up a week after Waddell was brutally attacked while walking along a Paulding County stretch of the 60.2-mile trail have slowed.

Waddell’s family also has set up a fund to help with medical expenses. Her relatives could not be reached Thursday concerning the amount of money collected in the Sun Trust bank account they opened nor or Waddell’s recovery progress.

Henson said Waddell was improving but he didn’t know specifics.

Waddell was attacked July 29 as she walked along the trail near the 19 1/2 mile marker. A biker spotted her as she dragged herself up an embankment from trees along the trail. She was beaten so badly friends and relatives did not recognize her.
