College Park police have identified a man accused of shooting a woman he met online.

Dontarius Turner, 22, of Memphis, Tenn., is wanted on aggravated assault, armed robbery and weapons charges in the Christmas Eve shooting of the woman, College Park police Sgt. Jeff Hightower said Tuesday in an emailed statement.

The 34-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was robbed and shot about 12:45 a.m. Dec. 24 near the intersection of Sullivan Road and Edison Drive, Hightower said.

The woman told police that she met the suspect on the dating website “badoo.com.”

Shortly after meeting in person for the first time, the two went to a local Waffle House, but left without getting any food, Hightower said.

They were on their way to a nearby hotel when the suspect “produced a handgun and instructed her to pull over and give him all her belongings,” Hightower said. “She complied but was shot in the face.”

The suspect attempted to shoot the woman again as she fled on foot, then he drove off in the woman’s 1999 Jeep Cherokee.

Hightower asked that anyone with information on Turner’s location call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477 or College Park police at 404-761-3131.
