Cobb Police host Medication Take Back Day on Sept. 12

A free Medication Take Back Day will be sponsored by the Cobb County Police Department, WellStar and SafeKids Cobb County from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 12 at three locations.

The drive-through sites are:

• Cobb County Safety Village 1220 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta
• WellStar Acworth Health Park 4550 Cobb Parkway, Acworth
• WellStar East Cobb Health Park 3747 Roswell Road NE, Marietta

Each of the first 100 vehicles at each location will receive a free gift.

No questions will be asked and no forms or ID are required.

When medicines are no longer needed or have expired, police say it is important to dispose of them properly to help reduce harm from accidental exposure or intentional misuse.

Accidental poisoning, overdoses and improper use of medications can be avoided by turning in unused or expired medicine for safe disposal.
