A person of interest sought in connection to a killing at a Norman Drive apartment complex Monday night has been cleared as a suspect, Clayton County police announced Wednesday, but authorities continue to search for a stolen vehicle as part of their investigation.

Two photos of the person of interest were released by authorities Tuesday night, but by Wednesday afternoon, the individual had been found, interviewed and determined to not be a suspect in Monday’s fatal shooting of Jeremy Milbry, Clayton County police spokeswoman JaQuitta Williams said.

Police have had one person in custody since Tuesday, but officials are not releasing their name as the investigation remains active, Williams said.

Authorities are still on the lookout for a stolen gray Acura RDX, a sport utility vehicle, with Georgia tag BYL 2877, which is believed to be involved in Monday’s shooting.

Milbry was shot in the back after two groups of people got into an argument that escalated to a fight at the Stone Brook Apartments on Norman Drive just south of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Officers got the call about the shots fired in the incident around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Milbry was pronounced dead at Southern Regional Medical Center.

Anyone with information on the individual or any other details about the incident is asked to call 404-577-TIPS or Clayton County Police at 770-477-3648.
