A Clayton County jury found a man guilty of the 2013 murder of his ex-girlfriend, after a week-long trial.

Herbert Lowe was convicted Friday afternoon in the shooting death of Lisa Marie Davis, who died in January 2013, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Davis, a Coca-Cola marketing executive, and Lowe once lived together. Lowe shot Davis, in the back, after she kicked him out of the residence, according to Channel 2. After the shooting, he held a friend of hers at gunpoint for hours.

Davis’ son, Terry Cannon, told the TV station he is pleased with the jury’s verdict.

“I really appreciate the jury, they did a wonderful job as far as paying attention,” he said. “There’s definitely always going to be that void there, you know, I’m just happy to get another chapter of my life behind me, so I can move forward you know what I’m saying?”

A date for sentencing has not been set, but Lowe faces life in prison, the station said.
