The Marietta Police Department is announcing the upcoming session of its annual Citizens Police Academy. This program provides an opportunity for citizens of Marietta to see what it is like to be a police officer. There is no charge for the 10-week program, which begins Sept. 3. Classes will be held every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with graduation on Nov. 13. The academy is open to Marietta residents and businesspeople, pending a background check.
