The cold that came to visit metro Atlanta the past few days plans to stay a little while longer.

Monday morning will be nippy, with lows headed down in the lower 20s to low 30s, said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz. From there, expect mostly sunny skies, a light southerly component to the wind, allowing temperatures to get about 10 degrees warmer to highs in the 50s.

Clouds will move in Monday afternoon with much milder weather in the upper 50s. Temps in the mid-50s continue Tuesday but there is a 70 percent chance of rain. The showers are expected to clear out by Wednesday.

Lows Monday night will around 33, rising to 43 Tuesday night, but back to around freezing Wednesday night.
