Child dies after being wounded by Macon man cleaning gun

A Macon man has been charged with second degree murder after he fatally wounded a 17-month-old boy when the gun he was cleaning discharged and struck the child in the face Thursday, according to Macon television station WMAZ.

Ronnie Howard, 36, is the boyfriend of the child’s mother, the station reported. The couple drove the boy to the hospital where he later died.
