Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell will host his first “Twitter Chat” from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. Monday to hear the public’s concerns, opinions and ideas on the best ways to fight crime in Atlanta.

While major crimes are down in Atlanta, Mitchell said he was concerned about a rash of petty crimes, including thefts of personal mobile devices, which have created a perception that crime is worse than it might be.

Questions addressed during the Twitter chat will be selected both in advance and in real-time during the event. To participate, tweet your questions and comments with the hashtag #CeasarChatsCrime.
