Cartersville officer, 2 others injured in early morning wreck

March 12, 2014A 26-year-old Cartersville policewoman, on her way to assist another officer, was injured Wednesday morning when a car turned into the path of her cruiser.
Officer Sarah Johnson’s police cruiser was nearing the intersection of Ga. 113 and Lee Street in Cartersville when a 1990 Cadillac Deville, driven by Patricia Popham, 77, pulled out into the street, according to the Georgia State Patrol. Popham and a 4-year-old passenger in her car were also injured.
Johnson and the 4-year old were taken to Cartersville Medical Center. Popham was taken to Floyd Medical Center in Rome, according to the GSP.
No charges were filed.
