A 17-year-old Florida high school girl knew her prom dress would get attention.
Milan Bolden-Morris knew it wasn’t the sparkles or the cut like other dresses that night, but for the faces of Trayvon Martin and Tamir Rice with dozens of others displayed across her dress. Faces of those who were killed by police during the last few years across the country and sparked the Black Lives Matter movement.

Bolden-Morris attends Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she is a senior basketball star who has a full scholarship to Boston College and will study pre-med. She wore the dress Friday at Pahokee High School’s prom, because she couldn’t attend Newman’s because of a prior engagement. A friend invited her to Pahokee’s.
